Acquired in September 2020 by Northampton-based Go2 Engineering Group, day to day management of Seychell will be managed by new commercial director Gareth Barnard, following Roger Williams’s departure from the business.
Both new owner Peter Dodd, managing director of the Go2 Engineering Group and Gareth Barnard come from an engineering background. They have an energetic vision of creating a One-Stop Engineering Shop and together with the backing of the group, this will ensure the future growth and success of Seychell.
Seychell is the group’s 7th acquisition, adding to the complimentary partner businesses, the group can offer services including precision machining, fabrication and non-destructive testing.
Who are Go2 Engineering Group?
The group established in 2018 and has been acquiring, through organic growth, complementary engineering businesses that will support the group’s efforts – to create a one-stop engineering shop. By adding each individual acquisition (our new Partner) the group can deliver overall capabilities, which currently include fabrication, precision machining and non-destructive testing.
Over the last 2-3 years, the group has acquired several new Partner businesses, including Seychell. The group model is to support each Partner business, utilising their own complementary and specialised skillset, with access to a rich resource of internal departments including IT, Change Management, Finance and Marketing.
What does Seychell bring to the group?
The Go2 Engineering Group selected Seychell as a new acquisition partner for numerous reasons including:
- geographical area, we have several sites in the Northampton/Peterborough area and are looking to expand our presence further within the Midlands,
- the strong connections Seychell has within the motorsport and scientific research sectors,
- access to Oxford’s high-end engineering talent pool of fabricators and precision engineers
Pete and Gareth are impressed with several areas of Seychell and wish to continue investing in its people, its facilities and in new high-end, state of the art precision machinery.
